The British Action Academy™ offers a vast range of Stunt & Action Experiences and invaluable training courses for any one interested in the movie and TV industry. The Academy was founded by Andreas Petrides, one of the UK’s leading Stunt Performers, Stunt Co-ordinators & Action Directors.
In 2008 Andreas formed the British Action Academy™ with Co-Director Cayte Robinson.
MEET THE DIRECTORS
Andreas is one of the UK’s leading Stunt Performers, Stunt Co-ordinators and Action Directors. His career has spanned over 20 years working on over 500 productions worldwide and on some of the biggest movie productions to date, including Star Wars – The Phantom Menace, where he helped to create the award winning lightsaber fights, he was also the 2nd Unit Stunt Co-ordinator and Stunt Doubled Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan Kenobi.
Along with a colleague, he designed and choreographed all the fights and battle sequences in Ridley Scott’s Oscar winning Gladiator, trained Russell Crowe and Stunt Doubled Joaquin Phoenix as Emperor Commodus. He has worked on over 90 movies including 4 James Bond's, Braveheart, Batman, Terminator 3, The Mummy, Tomb Raider, Interview with the Vampire, Saving Private Ryan and the recent film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, to name but a few!
His TV credits include the current BBC show Merlin, Band of Brothers, Little Britain, Eastenders, Casualty, Silent Witness, Trial & Retribution, Prime Suspect and a Touch of Frost.
Andreas was recently inducted into the Hollywood Stuntmen’s Hall of Fame recognising his outstanding achievements in the stunt profession of motion pictures and television.
Cayte’s background has always been theatre, music and art and from an early age she was always singing, playing instruments and acting on stage. Cayte won a place with the prestigious National Music Theatre where she performed at the Edinburgh Festival on shows written and directed by both Sir And
rew Lloyd Webber and Richard Stilgoe.
Cayte went on to further her talent in music with the ambition of writing music for film and television, her dream became a reality when she was asked to write the music score for an up and coming British movie which was showcased at the Cannes Film Festival.
Whilst continuing her passion for music Cayte developed a successful career as a Quality Control & Operations Manager. With her skills for managing businesses, she decided to join forces with Andreas to set up and run the British Action Academy.
Cayte still continues with her music alongside running the Academy.
